King of Men Ring discontinued
For a while now I've been considering getting the King of Men Ring, but kept putting it off. But recently I came across a couple of sites which listed my birthstone as carnelian, and because the pictures of this gemstone resembled the stone set in the King of Men Ring, I thought it might be the same stone. So I googled 'King of Men Ring' and Tolkientown came up... this is becoming my favourite site... and sure enough, it said the stone was natural carnelian. But to my dismay, it also said that this ring has been discontinued by the manufacturer! All sizes except 11, which is a little too big for me, are sold out. Luckily, however, I found a size 10 on eBay with a Buy It Now option (condition new). So I've ordered it... I hope it's as nice as it looks in the pictures. Rest assured, I will let you know.
Another spam bites the dust
Well, once again it's been a while since I've posted. I guess I'll never fulfill my dream of posting to this blog regularly. But when people try to spam my blog, I get notifications by email, and I squash 'em before they appear. But in order to do that, I have to log in to my blogger account. So I figured, while I'm squashing this latest piece of spam, I might as well post an update.
I haven't gone back to smoking cigarettes. Nor have I begun smoking pipes more often than is healthy (at least as far as I'm concerned). So that's one good thing. Unfortunately, however, the stem of my Aragorn pipe has begun to split. But before you take that as a warning not to purchase this pipe, you should know that I committed a big No-No when it comes to pipe-smoking: I smoked this sucker twice, sometimes three times in a row, without waiting for it to cool & dry... not just one or two times but several times a week! It's that good... the taste, I mean. I just couldn't help myself.
So now I've decided to retire the Aragorn pipe, hang it on my wall somewhere, and buy the Gandalf pipe, only this time I will take better care of it. If I do this and the stem splits anyway, rest assured I will let you know. But I doubt it will, or at least, not as quickly as the Aragorn pipe did. Let that be a lesson to you... if you're going to smoke these pipes regularly (or any pipe for that matter), best let them rest 72 hours (or at the very least, 24) after each smoke, as experienced pipe-smokers have recommended.
Of course, if you smoke daily like I do then you will need a shitload of pipes, but part of the fun is collecting different ones anyway.
Until next spam...
